Quick Start — Secure Setup Flow
This guide helps you perform the official, secure setup for your Trezor device. Follow each step on the physical device and never share your recovery phrase online.
- Unbox & Inspect: Verify the tamper-evident packaging. If packaging is damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the device.
- Download Official Software: Always use trezor.io or suite.trezor.io for downloads.
- Initialize Device: Connect your Trezor, choose Create new or Recover, and set a strong PIN on the device.
- Record Recovery Seed Offline: Write the seed on paper/metal. Never take photos or store it digitally.
- Verify Firmware & Update: Use the Suite to confirm official firmware signatures and update if needed.
- Test a Small Transaction: Send a tiny amount to confirm the wallet flow end-to-end before larger transfers.
